Statement of Faith

Adopted July 17, 2003 by VCA Commission and by the School Board on August 14, 2003 1. We believe that the Bible, inclusive of Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. It is the only rule in matters of faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20 - 21) 2. We believe in One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:18 - 20) 3. We believe in the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. (Gen. 1:1 - 24) 4. We believe in Creation and that man was created in the image and likeness of God. That Adam and Eve yielded to temptation of Satan and became fallen creatures. We believe that all men and women are born in need of a Savior. (Gen. 1:26, Mark 10:6 - 7) 5. We believe in the Incarnation, the Virgin birth, and Deity of our Lord and Savior. In Jesus' substitutional atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the Cross. We believe in his power to save men from their sins. We believe in the Resurrection of His body from the grave, His ascension into heaven and that He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our advocate. We believe that He will personally come again. We believe that Salvation is by grace through faith in the atoning blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and that a regenerated man must walk in complete dependence upon the Holy Spirit in order to please God. (Eph. 5:18, Acts 4:31) 7. We believe that the Church, composed of all those who truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, is the Body and bride of Christ. We believe that Christ is head of the Body, the Church; that all believers are united into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and having thus become members of one another, we are responsible to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
